An internationally acclaimed Algerian singer-songwriter Souad Massi’s debut CD, Raoui, became a global sensation garnering numerous awards. Massi blends Western acoustic music with her North African roots to create beautiful sounds with poetic lyrics. She is the winner of the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards, UN Ambassador for the Micro Credit Launch for Women and most recently named 2011’s top ten most influential African and global women’s voice of today.
