You can donate old items that you do not need, clothes, toys, cookware, electronics, anything you no longer use. We will not be auctioning these off but we will make sure they go to the families in need. 4. Show up! Bidding on an item is always great help, you'll be giving yourself a treat while still giving back to those in need. There will also be forms available for you to sponsor orphans or kids in needy families, the payment is monthly and the amount is very affordable to most of us but it does make a huge difference in those kids' lives. علي حرب، يطرح إشكاليات "الهوية والحقيقة" في فكر المنامة
في اشتغال فكري على معطيات الهوية وأثرها الثقافي، يقدم الدكتور علي حرب ضمن مشاركته في شهر "فكر" بالمنامة عاصمة الثقافة العربية للعام 2012م ورقة عمل بعنوان "الهوية والحقيقة"، ينبش فيها الهوية الثقافية عمومًا، ويشرح البعد الحقيقي في المشهد الفكري، حيث يناقش الحضور في رؤيته الفلسفية والفكرية ويتناول أطروحاته الخاصة حول المفهوم الذي قد تطرحه هذه المصلحات، والإشكاليات التي قد تتداخل فيها أو ترمي إليها. كل المعطيات والاحتمالات تجد متسعًا لها في هذه الندوة التي تنظمها وزارة الثقافة مساء يوم الأربعاء، الموافق 25 يوليو بمتحف البحرين الوطني.
د. علي حرب:
كاتب وباحث لبناني مختص بالفلسفة، يُعرف عنه أنه شديد التأثر بمذهب المفكر الفرنسي جاك دريدا في التفكيك، ولا يعترف بالمنطق الصوري القائم على الكليات العقلية، إذ يتبع منهج كانط في نقد العقل وآلياته وبنيته الفكرية. من أهم مؤلفاته كتاب "نقد النص"، و"هكذا أقرأ: ما بعد التفكيك"، "خطاب الهوية – سيرة فكرية"، "الإنسان الأدني: أمراض الدين وأعطال الحداثة"/ "أصنام النظرية وأطياف الحرية – نقد بورديو وتشومسكي" و"النص والحقيقة: الممنوع والممتنع".

Ali Harb examines Identity and Truth in Manama
As part of Dr Ali Harb's participation in the cultural programme for the month of literature, he will present a workshop entitled 'Identity and Truth' in which he will discuss cultural identity. Audiences will be encouraged to examine their self-perceptions through the ensuing dialogue which will revolve around his philosophical notions. Organised by the Ministry of Culture, this talk will take place on Wednesday, 25th July at 8pm in the Bahrain National Museum.
About Dr Ali Harb
A Lebanese writer and researcher who specialises in philosophy, he is known to be influenced by the critical theory of deconstruction, first developed by the acclaimed French philosopher, Jacques Derrida. Some of his notable publications are Discourse of Identity: an Intellectual Autobiography, Critics of the Text and Mankind: the Disease of Religion and the Obstacle of Modernity.

"زاين" مشروع يسعى إلى ترجمة التجربة الشبابية الثقافية
من خلال 4 ورشات مختلفة في شهر الفكر
تشجع وزارة الثقافة الفئات الشبابية الطموحة لتطوير أعمالها بشتى الطرق، حيث تستقطب المشاريع المطروحة من الجهات التي تسعى دائماً إلى الارتقاء بالجانب الفكري وتنمية المواهب الأدبية والفنية ، لذا تتبنى منامة الثقافة في شهرها الفكر مشروع "زاين" الذي يتضمن أربع ورش عمل تقيمها أثناء شهر يوليو الجاري ما بين الفترة 18 – 28 في متحف البحرين الوطني.
تسعى "زاين" إلى تعليم الشباب صناعة نشرة يدوية لا تعتمد على خدمات دور النشر بتاتاً بل تستعين فقط بأجهزة الطباعة المتعارف عليها، إذ تقوم على تدوير الأعمال الأدبية والفنية من نصوص وصور متنوعة لأعمال هؤلاء الشباب ومن ثم السماح لهم بعرض نتاجهم وبيعه في المحلات الصغيرة بالمجمعات التجارية كمجمع السيف والمقاهي الشبابية المهتمة بالأعمال الثقافية كمقهى الرواق، بالإضافة إلى نقل تلك التجربة الثقافية على المواقع الإلكترونية التي تفرد المساحات للشباب لتقديم أعمالهم لجمهور الشبكة العنكبوتية، بهدف صقل الوجه الثقافي الشبابي البحريني ودفع التوجهات الصغيرة إلى العطاء ومزاحمة الركب الفكري العربي في سنوات مبكرة من رحلته المعرفية.

Youth Culture brought to Life in the month of Literature
al-Zine, a custom-designed workshop
In line with the Ministry of Culture's emphasis on youth engagement and the fostering of multi-disciplinary learning opportunities, a four-session al-Zine workshop will be held in the Bahrain National Museum between 18th and 28th July.
Led by two brilliant young artists, Anna Leanda Thackray and Leon D, the workshop allows students to examine the art of publishing in order to bring their creative output to a wider audience than previously possible. Students will be enabled to develop their singular Zines and will be encouraged to sell them in select outlets across the island. They will also publish their work online in order to reach the widest audience envisaged.
Leon D is a Bahraini self-taught artist who experiments with pop and surreal art. Anna Leanda Thackray has a degree in Fine Art from Southampton University and moved to Bahrain in 2008. Together they will bring the class alive for young adults who are interested in making their own paper publications and sharing their thoughts with readers.

المنامة تفتح النسيج الفكري العربي ضمن ندوة " شؤون الفكر العربي و شجونه"
كمن ينسج خواطر الأذهان على وجه العلانية، تهيئ المنامة مساحة للانفلات الفكري والمعرفي أمام أبرز مفكري الوطن العربي لاستعراض تجاربهم الفكرية والمعرفية من خلال الندوة التي تقيمها وزارة الثقافة ضمن فعاليات شهر "فكر" بالمنامة عاصمة الثقافة العربية، في الثامن عشر من شهر يوليو الجاري في متحف البحرين الوطني بعنوان "شؤون الفكر العربي وشجونه" لتستدرج محاور جدلية بين شخصيات مختلفة.
تستضيف الندوة ثلاثة مفكرين من دول عربية مختلفة، فمن البحرين الدكتور محمد جابر الأنصاري، وهو صاحب بحوث ودراسات متعددة، سيقدّم في الندوة ورقة بحثية بعنوان "البحرين ميناء مفتوح على الحياة والفكر"، والدكتور هاشم صالح الذي يحمل بين أوراقه التفاصيل المختلفة التي أثرت حياته الثقافية أثناء تنقله بين الدول العربية والغربية من خلال ورقته البحثية "من دمشق إلى باريس: تأثير الأنوار الفرنسية على ثقافتي وتكويني"، بالإضافة إلى مشاركة الدكتورة زهيدة درويش بصفتها الأمين العام للجنة الوطنية لليونسكو في بيروت لمناقشة دور المرأة في الثقافة والمجتمع في ظل العولمة.
• د. محمد جابر الأنصاري:
كاتب و مفكر بحريني، وُلد في العام 1939م. حاصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الفلسفة الإسلامية الحديثة من الجامعة الأمريكية، كما حصل على العديد من الشهادات من جامعات مرموقة كجامعة كامبردج. شغل العديد من المناصب في الدولة كرئيساً للإعلام وعضو مجلس دولة، بالإضافة إلى كونه المستشار الثقافي لجلالة الملك. له كتب في شؤون الخليج السياسية والثقافية في الصحف والدوريات. وله الكثير من المؤلفات الشاهدة على تميزه الثقافي منها: لمحات من الخليج العربي 1970، هل كانوا عمالقة؟، التفاعل الثقافي بين المغرب والمشرق.
• د. هاشم صالح:
كاتب ومفكر سوري. عُرف واشتُهر بترجماته للكثير من الكتب، أبرزها مؤلفات الراحل محمد أركون، حيث ساهم بتعريف الجمهور به. اهتم بقضايا فكرية مختلفة وناقش موضوع الحداثة وما بعدها في محافل مختلفة. كتب في صحف عربية منها مختلفة. يعيش في فرنسا منذ الثمانينات وله العديد من المؤلفات التي تعكس أفكاره في محاور متعددة.
• د. زهيدة درويش
دكتورة وأديبة لبنانية. تحتل منصب الأمين العام للجنة الوطنية لليونسكو ببيروت. خبيرة في الأدب العربي و الفرنسي. لها مشاركات في العديد من المحافل الثقافية. شغلت منصب أستاذ محاضر في الأدب الفرنسي في جامعات متعددة، كما كانت مؤسسة ورئيسة الجمعية اللبنانية لتشجيع المطالعة ونشر ثقافة الحوار، منذ 2006. لها العديد من المؤلفات الصوفية والإنسانية في فكر المطران جورج خضر وتجربته الوجدانية ضمن كتاب "وجه ووهج"، بالإضافة إلى التاريخ والتجربة في "الكتاب" لأدونيس.

Issues Surrounding Arab Thought and its Challenges:
Trends in Arab thought examined in a public seminar
The Ministry of Culture has organised another forum for public discussion in which trends in Arab thought and contemporary intellectual debate are to be addressed by speakers and participants alike. Entitled 'Issues Surrounding Arab Thought and its Challenges, the seminar will take place on 18th July at the Bahrain National Museum.
In accordance with the seminar's mission, three Arab intellectuals have been invited to speak. From Bahrain, Dr Mohammed Jaber Ansari, will present a paper about cultural openness – 'Bahrain: an open port for life and thought.' On the other hand, Dr Hashim Saleh will review the Arab condition from the standpoint of migrants in addition to the cultural scene in the Levant. His paper, 'From Damascus to Paris: the impact of French lights on my composition and intellect,' represents the self-reflection of an Arab thinker in Western lands. Dr Zahida Darwiche, the Secretary General of the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO, Beirut will also discuss the role of women in Arab intellectual thought and society within the realms of modern-day globalisation.
Dr Mohammed Jaber Ansari
An Arab political thinker and writer, Dr Ansari was born in 1939. He obtained his PhD in Contemporary Islamic Philosophy from the American University in addition to a wide range of educational qualifications from esteemed educational establishments including Cambridge University. He has also held a number of leading public positions including holding membership in the State Council in addition to his position as the Cultural and Scientific Advisor to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The author of a range of articles about regional politics and culture published in journals and newspapers, his recognised works include 'Glimpses from the Arabian Gulf, 1970' in addition to 'Were they Giants?' and 'Cultural Exchange between the Maghreb and Mashreq.'
Dr Hachem Saleh
The Syrian thinker and writer, Dr Saleh first came to fame as a result of his distinguished translations, one of the most significant being the works of Mohammed Arkoun, which he successfully introduced to Arab readers. The most prominent of his translations of Arkoun’s work include books on Islamic Thought such as: Critique and Prophecy – Where is the contemporary Islamic thinking? – Issues on the Critique of the Religious Mind – Fundamental Thinking and the Impossibility of founding a fundament. He has also written several articles on philosophers of European enlightenment versus fundamentalism which were serialised in the international Arabic daily, Asharq Al Awsat newspaper.
Dr Zahida Darwiche
The professor of French Literature at the Lebanese University in Tripoli, Lebanon, Dr Darwiche specialises in Arab and French literature movements and analysis. Currently the Secretary General of the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO, Beirut, she established the Lebanese Society for the Development of a Culture of Dialogue in 2006.

التي تتيح التناغم بين الطابع الشبابي والطابع التراثي الأصيل بآليةٍ تضمن تبادل
الخبرات ووجهات النظر في نسق انسيابي ومتجدد.
وانطلاقاً من أهدافنا التي نسعى لتحقيقها من خلال الملتقى الثقافي ننظم
أيام نقش للأفلام القصيرة والتي تسلط الأضواء على تألق المبدعين البحرينيين
على مستوى الإخراج والتأليف في عدد لا يستهان به من المحافل الدولية التي

Naqsh Cultural Dialogue, is an initiative by Naqsh Gallery with the
main objective of introducing one and all to the local culture and
art through an interactive theme of events. Naqsh Cultural
Dialogue is one of Naqsh Gallery's attempts, to create awareness
